Strengthening its Board and its U.S. team as part of North American market expansion plan

London, 10th March 2020 - Global payment technology leader Miura Systems announces two major appointments as part of building out its presence in the U.S., and strengthening its global market expansion:

Ken Paull – Non-Executive Board Member
Adding considerable capability to the Miura Board, Ken’s North American experience will be a significant factor in defining Miura’s direction and strategy in this market. Ken has held several senior management roles in the electronic payments industry over the last thirty years including establishing Verifone’s Retail Division and PAX’s business in North America, as well as leading sales and marketing for Triton (ATMs) and Lynk Systems (now WorldPay). He served on the Board of Directors for Access to Money/TRM and oversaw its successful sale to Cardtronics. Ken was also CEO of ROAM (now Ingenico Mobile), a mobile payments company and most recently was the Chief Revenue Officer for Cayan where he was instrumental in the company’s sale to TSYS for $1.05B.

According to Ken, flexibility and ease of integration will drive the company’s growth in North America: “Partners are looking for compact and versatile devices that can add mobility to customer engagement in Retail, Hospitality and other business segments. The dynamic interfaces and extensive tools that Miura provides have been proven to accelerate certifications and speed to market for our resellers’ offerings.”

Russell Harty – General Manager, Americas
A seasoned payment executive of 30 years’ experience, Russell has held senior management roles at Ingenico and Cayan where he has led both major account and partner teams working with ISV’s, Gateways, ISO’s and Distributors. Prior to these roles, he held management positions at both Triton and Hewlett Packard. In all of these roles, the primary markets served were retail, restaurant, retail banking, healthcare and convenience stores.

Russell will focus on driving Miura’s expansion in the US market, working closely with partners to accelerate the adoption of the company’s best-in-class retail payment solutions. Russell sees an exciting opportunity for Miura’s product offer in the US market: “Mobile interaction and fluid integration are a key part of most retailers’ strategy to improve the instore customer experience.”

Welcoming both Ken and Russell to Miura, Chairman Andrew Dark said “We are delighted to have such an experienced payments expert join us and strengthen our Board and its North American focus. Bringing Russell in to drive US operations provides Miura with further opportunity to build on the 27% year on year growth it achieved in 2019.”
